Nepali Open Source Projects.. we are collecting them
  • bhu1stbhu1st September 2011
We are keeping record of existing Nepali Open Source projects in #SV wiki
    http://wiki.semicolonvalley.org/index.php/Open_Source_Projects
(Wiki is not public yet, we will open it after keeping some initial contents to read)

We are currently listing projects we found in Google Code/ Github / Codeplex.

    The benefit:

    1) It will be easy to find projects to collaborate & contribute. It's more fun to work with local developers.
    2) Gives us measure of our current Open Source use/contribution efforts.
    3) It will be easy to meet local developers.

What counts as Open Source project:

    1) Your simple C/C++ project work you did in your school or college.
    2) Any app. you built for fun.
    3) You college project if you want to share.
    4) Your project from '90s - which needs re-factoring and some polishing.
    5) but Should be hosted in Open Source Project hosting platforms (eg. Google Code/ Github / Codeplex or other public/private host.) and should be publicly available under any of the popular Open Source licenses.

If you have shared your code/projects in public domain,
or have known/used any existing Nepali projects which are shared in internet let us know in the comment.
If you want to contribute to the wiki mention in this thread, we will invite you.

If you have any code/project that you want to share, but haven't done that yet,
please visit http://code.google.com/hosting or https://github.com and commit/push your code there.

(If you need any help using Google Code (VCS - SVN/Git/HG) or Github (VCS-Git) please start a new thread, we shall help you.)

    Let's collaborate.

Reply to @mansubarna: thanks subarna. What we are trying to do is collect/list existing Open Source projects owned/developed by Nepali developers in organized fashion. You can search in internet and share such projects links here in this thread. We will be listing them in our wiki page at http://wiki.semicolonvalley.org. Also, if you want to list the project by yourself in the wiki you are most welcomed.
